Mexico is getting the first Four Seasons luxury tented resort in the Americas, and it’s exclusively for adults. Starting at $3,950 a night, this resort is nestled on 48 acres of land in Punta Mita, a region known for its luxury tourism, with multi-million-dollar villas and exclusive tranquil settings.

Named Naviva, the luxury space only accepts 30 guests at a time, with 15 luxury tents stationed on the edge of a private peninsula, which is just north of Puerta Vallarta airport.

The vision of the space is for guests to feel at one with nature by taking cues from the jungle around them. The resort encourages guests to leave behind their daily stressors and transform into a better self through a connection to nature and activities to soothe the mind, body, and soul.

The space has been fitted with thoughtful metaphors to resemble this, such as the cocoon-inspired bamboo bridge that guests must cross upon arrival or shamanic sound healing journeys.

What Are The Accommodations Like

The resort concept is said to be derived from nature and allows guests to get as close to nature as possible from a comfortable setting. The tents offer spacious indoor and outdoor areas with sweeping views of the Riviera Nayarit coastline while being surrounded by the local flora and fauna of the area. Each tent comes with an open-air living room, a private plunge pool to take in the views, a hammock, a skylit shower, an oversized bathtub, and an outdoor shower.

You’ll find unique designs made from the surrounding environment, such as hand-carved timber hooks or benches made from natural stone. The hotel makes its own water through a partnership with SOURCE Water which uses hydropanel technology to extract water from the air, allowing for a sustainable water alternative.

What Experiences Does Naviva Offer

Each guest receives their own personal guide, who will schedule your itinerary and take you out on activities, whether it be spearfishing or hiking to a secret beach. Naviva breaks up its experiences by Daily, Signature, and Unscripted, which have been designed to represent the resort’s biophilic principle, which connects one to nature.

The Daily Experience has a focus on cultural insight, movement, and gastronomy, where guests are invited to hike to the Aztatlan ruins, enjoy a “seacuterie” tasting, or learn more about Aztec culture.

The Signature Experience was created to connect to heritage and tradition where guests can challenge their minds and body in a shaman-guided temazcal — a pre-Hispanic indigenous type of sweat lodge, find patience while fishing on the coastline, or visit a local artist in their creative setting.

Unscripted Experiences are designed to keep things interesting for guests, where they will be surprised with spontaneous activities that include a picnic in the jungle or tasting a small batch of Mexican wines.

Other ways to spend your time range from the intimate wellness space – two spa pods placed in the forest, which come with a personal garden, timber-soaking tub, and outdoor shower. The cliffside terrace offers a relaxing setting to watch the sunset or take a vinyasa yoga class, or you can explore the many nature trails of the area.

What Are The Dining Options?

Naviva is all-inclusive, which means your meals and beverages are included, and you can take your pick from multiple dining experiences. Whether it be dining at the restaurant on-site, Copal Cocina, snacking by the jungle pool, or enjoying a personalized menu from the comforts of your own tent, the food has been inspired by local ingredients while offering interesting infusions.

When dining at Copal Cocina, you might have the opportunity to learn more about the ingredients from the local farmers, fishermen, or coffee roasters who occasionally drop in or you can join an impromptu cooking class run by the restaurant chef.
